The day is finally here – it’s Sales Pitch book launch day!
This book has been 15 years in the making. I started using a version of this sales pitch structure when I was an in-house VP of Marketing looking for a way to ensure that a shift in positioning survived the jump from marketing to sales. I’ve now used it with over 200 clients in my consulting business – from seed-stage startups to big companies like Google and Epic Games. It took years of trial and error to perfect the structure and longer than that to figure out how to teach other folks how to do it. I’m so excited to FINALLY be able to share it with you.
The book is available at Amazon USA, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada, or wherever you like to buy your books! If you pre-ordered a book, you should be receiving it soon.
If you have received a book already, I would seriously appreciate you taking a moment to leave an Amazon or Goodreads review. Readers love to hear what other readers have to say and your opinion matters a lot!
OMG, there’s a Free Workbook!
Today I’m also releasing a new Obviously Awesome + Sales Pitch Workbook. It includes a new set of templates for both books combined into one. Newsletter subscribers (that’s you!) can click here to get it for free.
I guess I’m writing a newsletter now
You might have noticed that this newsletter is the first I’ve sent using Substack. I’ve long avoided committing to writing a weekly newsletter but I’ve decided to run an experiment for the next few months or so to see if I enjoy writing it and if you folks enjoy reading it. If you have topics you’d like to see me cover, hit reply and let me know. Next week I’m writing about Differentiated Value and how I think it’s the antidote to sounding like a used car salesman.
Podcast episodes you might have missed
My episode on getting sales and marketing alignment through positioning work got a lot of folks talking last week. If you are looking for new ways to bring sales and marketing together, I’ve got you covered.
I also dropped an episode diving into why I think starting a sales pitch with your company’s “insight” works much better than starting with defining “the problem,” or “the change in the world.” I also tackle why we need to do a better job of integrating discovery into our pitches.
I was on an episode of the Exit Five podcast this week. We had a long conversation about category creation, strategic narrative, and positioning.
That’s it for this week. Thanks again for joining me on this journey! You folks have been a real source of energy for me while I’ve been slogging away at getting this book out the door and I appreciate you so much!
See you next week.
April
