My name is April Dunford, and this is my newsletter. I’m happy you stopped by.

I spent the first 30 years of my career as a repeat VP of Marketing at a series of 7 successful venture-backed technology startups. I also ran large marketing, product, and sales teams at a set of larger companies, including IBM, Siebel Systems, Nortel, and others.

In 2015, I made the transition to consulting work. My area of expertise is Positioning. I’ve now worked with over 200 growing technology companies - from small early-stage startups to massive companies like Google and Epic Games. I’ve written two best-selling books. My first, Obviously Awesome, is my attempt at giving B2B technology teams a step-by-step way to create better positioning that helps them stand out in crowded markets. My second book, Sales Pitch, gives teams an easy way to translate their positioning into a narrative their sales teams can use to help indecisive customers make better choices.

What you will learn

My goal for this newsletter is to go deeper into the practical application of positioning and give real-world examples. I will cover some ground that I covered in my books but with a focus on tips and tricks for applying that knowledge. Much like my podcast - Positioning with April Dunford - my goal is to help folks who are in the trenches, trying to slog their way through this important but often seriously difficult work.

Hey, April - have you got any freebees to get me to sign up?

Well, yes, I do. Subscribers get free access to the complete Obviously Awesome + Sales Pitch Workbook. Stay tuned for other upcoming subscriber-only content.
